Restore. Renew. Recover.

Our mission is to empower individuals through prevention and recovery services. We create supportive community centers for those facing addiction, mental health challenges, and trauma. Join us in making a difference.

About Us

Rural Addiction Prevention is a nonprofit founded in 2019 in response to the opioid epidemic impacting rural communities in Alabama. We started with a simple goal: to prevent substance use and misuse before it claimed more lives and further fractured families and small towns. Since then, our work has grown to include both prevention and recovery supports, with a focus on reaching people in places where services are often limited. We partner with local, state, and federal agencies through grant programs to strengthen prevention efforts and build sustainable, community based supports. Today, our programs include prevention services, recovery community centers in Troy, AL (Cornerstone), Tallassee, AL (The Way), and a developing center in Tuskegee, along with an annual fundraising golf tournament that helps raise awareness and sustain and expand this work. Across everything we do, we believe people in rural communities deserve early, compassionate support and a safe place to walk out their recovery close to home.
